Web beacons and embedded scripts are other technologies we use on our websites and in our applications, and in some of our emails and messages.

Web beacons (or “tags”) are made up of simple programming code embedded in web pages, emails and messages that communicate with GLOSALIA (or companies that help us run our business), when these types of web pages , emails or messages have been viewed or clicked on.

Embedded scripts program code within some of our pages to measure how you use our pages, for example, the links you click. We use this information to improve our websites and online services, to tailor it to the interests of potential users, and to conduct market research. Users can disable scripting features, such as JavaScript, in the browser (see the browser’s help function). Please note that if you disable scripting capabilities, some GLOSALIA websites and applications may not function properly.

Control browser to block cookies

Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can change your browser settings to block cookies. For example, in Internet Explorer 11, cookies can be blocked with the following procedure:

  1. Click on “Tools” and select “Internet Options”.
  2. Select the “Privacy” tab at the top of the window.
  3. Move the cursor up or down to select the types of cookies to be blocked.

Instructions for blocking cookies in other browsers are available in the privacy section of each browser.

Please note that if you choose to block cookies, you will not be able to access or use other cookie-based interactive features of the GLOSALIA sites and services.

Control browser to delete cookies

If you accept cookies, you can later delete them. For example, in Google Chrome cookies can be deleted using the following procedure:

  1. Open Chrome on your computer.
  2. Go to the top right and click More.
  3. Click More tools>Clear browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time slot. To clear all data, select All periods.
  5. Check the boxes next to “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files”.
  6. Click on “Clear data”.

If you delete cookies, the settings and preferences controlled by cookies, including advertising preferences, will be deleted.
